PROJECT "SOLO PARA CHICAS"
Integral development and prevention of pregnancy in female adolescents between 13 and 18 (2009-2011)

Coto join their forces and initiate this October the project For Girls
Only.
Both foundations have given themselves
the task to build up a differentiated formation model for the female
adolescent population of social disadvantaged communities. Within this
space for meetings among adolescent and adult females a particular
approach on their necessities, capacities and problematic is generated.
The model seeks to foster the development of values, knowledge,
abilities and skills essential for the identification and appropriation
of educational options, employment and quality of life, including the
prevention of early pregnancy.
The project operates within three communities of the Central Valley
with the target to work with the female adolescents on topics such as
feminity, sexuality and maternity, life plan, participation and
citizenship.
All topics are addressed through clubs where art, technology, physical
expression and play are the tools that invite the female population to
reflect and generate a critical and creative positioning of themselves
and their environment.
Parallel to the clubs, the project considers the creation of a Circle
of Friends, made up of women willing to share their stories (work,
personal) and teenage dreams. Thus, these female spaces will build
links and support networks that generate new views of the world.
The adolescents, the specialists and the circle of friends will
work together on an actual practice of inclusive citizenship where
challenges and dreams of female adolescents find their way.
